It never ceases to amaze me that even though you read the same thing a million times, something new can always pop out at you.
As we were reading Moroni 10:3-5 (another very common missionary passage) and the member pointed out in verse 4 "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." Moroni literally tells us to ask of these things are NOT true, that is how much confidence he has that you will get an affirmative answer.
I love how true the gospel is, and I love how much it can help and bless the lives of families.
This week was overall kind of an upset, our area seems to be a little dried up for missionary work and things look very gloomy right now. Whenever this happens my mind turns to a verse in Alma 26 "Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success." And that is what we will be doing. We cannot control others' agency but we can control our own.
Because the Gospel is so very real, I keep going! Because it is real, trials are okay, because Christ is always there! How grateful I am for a Savior who lives and loves me. I know that this gospel is real!
